Last week our daughter and her husband had their fourth baby, Heidi Victoria! We’re still celebrating! The first one, Grace is with the Lord, just in case you’re wondering where she is in the photo’s. Each baby born is a huge gift from the Lord, for which we are ever so grateful.
It is such an honor to be a grand parent. I’ll never forget those days after Grace died, when other grandparents held their grandchildren and I ached for ours. When I hold ours now, oh my goodness- I cherish them. Every toe I kiss, every nose I wipe, every word they say is priceless. When you lose a life, it makes you more grateful for life. I want to cherish our grandchildren. I want to live life with them, teach them through our actions how to live and love like Jesus.
Before Heidi was born I made a list of things I could do with the grand children while Heather, their mom was in labor. Use the list as an idea bank for yourself, for your children or grandchildren.
Heather’s labor was only five hours, Heidi was born while the kids were still asleep. We decided to do the list anyway so Heather could rest from her night of labor. After hugging and admiring Heidi we ate breakfast and then began our marathon list. The object of the marathon was to complete it in one day. We only accomplished 3/4 by dinnertime! The snag in time that I didn’t account for was the toy from Target- they didn’t want to move on to the next thing, they wanted to play with the toy.
