Christmas Luminaries–To Light the Path

Luminaries lining path to our house

Luminaries are a guide to the destination.

This past weekend we had a Christmas party and lit our driveway and path to our house with luminaries.

Isaiah prophesied that Jesus would be our light 778 years before He was even born! Isaiah 42:6

He also told us that His Name would be called, “…Wonderful, Counselor, Almighty God, Everlasting Father and Prince of Peace and that the increase of His government and peace there would be no end.” Isaiah 9:6-7

Jesus said, “I am the light of the world. Whoever follows Me will never walk in darkness, but will have the light of life.” John 8:12

Just as the light from the East Star guided the wise men to Jesus, so may the path to our home be lit as a guide for our guests to be ushered into our home, a dwelling place of His presence.

May the light of His glory radiate from you and me  and all who enter our  home encounter the Everlasting Father, the Prince of Peace!

We used white paper bags but you can use brown. Fold top part of bag over to give more strength.

1/2 cup of sand or pebbles in bottom to keep bag from blowing away. Place candle into sand. Lift wick up so it will be easy to light.

Use a long handle lighter to light the votive’s. Our lighter ran out of fluid so I resorted to using a torch, I wouldn’t recommend using one–I burned my finger!

Perfect! Unless of course is starts to rain, which it did.
